Willy vs. Cancer 3
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Willy Gonzalez, almost 5 years ago I had my first brain surgery to remove a stage 3 Astrocythoma tumor.
The tumor was unfortunately cancerous and so I had to do radiation and chemotherapy treatment to remove the remaining tissue but before I knew it, I was in remission and things were starting to look up!
I was able to return to work and start chipping at the overwhelming amount of medical debt left behind by countless MRIs and related medical appointments. Even with insurance, I can't think of a place where I don't have a stash of overdue bills.
Fast forward to October 2021, I was rear ended on the way to work which lead me to get MRI to ensure my head was good given my preexisting injury conditions, the results swept the floor from under me.
The MRI revealed the tumor is back which means I need another surgery.
My surgery is scheduled for January 25th.
I am beyond thankful for the endless support of my friends, family and colleagues as I try my best to prepare mentally and financially. They give me the strength and confidence I need to get through this. I WILL get through this.
If it's anything like the first surgery, I will be out of work for at least 2 months. And like the first surgery, again suffering a huge financial burden.
Unfortunately that also means even with insurance, I'll be relying on little to no income as I recover and start treatment.
I don't know how much to ask for because I don't know how much I'll need to get through this but every penny, call or text helps.
I'll try to attach other easier forms of donating if gofund me isn't your thing.
Thank you for taking the time to read, share and or donate.
Godspeed,
Willy Gonzalez

Quick update: on September 8th I made the decision to move to Florida to be with family and see what options I have down here. Unfortunately the heat and cost of living were not my thing and I started having more seizures which ended me up in the hospital. Then on the last Friday of the same year I ended up having another brain surgery to have yet another tumor removed. So far I'm recovering well and likely have to do physical therapy to relearn how to walk and do a few other things but one day at a time I should be able to make it it through this. I'm asking for anything that helps towards this cause as it's just my and my brother fending by. Thanks for the help and prayers
