Early Monday morning Amanda took Willy, my youngest son, to the emergency room at United Regional. He had a hemorrhagic stroke. By noon he was on a flight to UT Southwestern. Within an hour of arriving the neurosurgeon called Amanda for consent to do emergency surgery. They did the surgery before we made it and he was in recovery when we arrived. After a ct scan they saw a little more bleeding and felt it would be best to go back in to repair it. He has amazed us with the improvements he has made. He has his eyes open, he can move his left side pretty well and he likes to hold out hands. ❤️ Yesterday he somehow pulled his breathing tube out even though he was restrained. When I came in this morning he had pulled out his feeding and med tube. He hasn’t lost any of his hard headedness (even though a piece is missing right now). The physical therapists were in this morning and he sat up. I am so grateful to God and to all the people who are praying. He’s far from out of the woods, but I feel so confident in the progress he has made in just 4 days. Not to mention the amazing doctors and nurses at UT Southwestern.
