Wills' House Fire - Rising From The Ashes
Donation protected
Hi all ! Thank you so much for checking out my fundraiser! I created this GoFundMe in the hopes of being able to offset and alleviate a mountain of tragic financial burden that my family [brother, Bryan, sister-in-law, Kim, and two nieces, Mikaylah (age 10 / size 8-10) and Scarlet (age 4 / size 3T-4T)] are currently going through due to recent job loss, death and now a house fire that has ultimately taken more than just tangible items from them.
Much like the rest of the world, my family's walking nightmare began at the start of quarantine when Bryan and Kim were both furloughed (laid off) in March after their city (Las Vegas) shut down with 2 little girls to look after. Not long after, our Mom also lost her job (cruise line industry) due to the crisis and no return date in sight. And, as if we hadn't received our fair share of catastrophes, just a few weeks later, our Dad lost his battle to cancer on April 1, 2020. We've only recently been able to plan his memorial to be held in August and scraped together enough money for them to be in attendance at our Dad's service here in Florida.
Now, tragically, on the night of 7/07/2020 my brother and his family arrived home only to be met with the devastating sight of a house fire blazing from their home's 2nd floor window.
The fire originated in Mikaylah's room and is heart broken to find out she literally lost EVERYTHING, especially her treasured book collection.
Additional rooms including: Scarlet's room, bathroom(s), Bryan/Kim's master room, kitchen, living room, dining room (etc.) were also heavily damaged during the path of destruction and they are only able to salvage random items here and there.
The fire was contained before the flames engulfed the entire house but we're finding out that around 85-90% of all items located on the 1st floor are also not salvageable due to soot and ash damage.
Although we are BEYOND relieved and thankful that nobody was physically hurt and that their doggo, Gotham, is safe..
We are now tasked with the responsibility to rebuild, all the while COVID-19 continues to steadily rise, money is scarce, jobs are in short supply and the weight of losing our Dad still looms on our shoulders.
At this time, they've been camping out at Kim's mother's house but trying to quickly find a temporary, or even new/permanent, home is proving to be even more difficult as NV state laws consider all german shepards/huskys (aka Gotham) to be a "vicious breed."
So, literally, at this point... anything helps:
A dollar.
A donation of items.
A prayer.
A kind word.
A share of this story.
Those who are able to donate clothing, toys or house hold items please text Bryan at (321) [phone redacted].
