Hello, thank you for visiting my page!
My name is William Patton and I am a former foster youth who experienced the trauma and hardship that accompanies homelessness and neglect in aging out of the foster care system. With the help and support of the Children’s Law Center, I have made great strides to become a better person and advocate on behalf of people in our community who have been devastated by cancer. Cancer killed not only my uncle, but my grandmother as well. While my grandfather luckily survived lymphoma cancer, my grandmother did not overcome the disease and she passed away when I was five years old. My deepest desire is to give back to members in my community affected by this “silent killer” as well as find closure surrounding the loss of my beloved uncle to stage four brain cancer.
I was selected to participate in a 4,000 mile bike ride for cancer by the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults and I really need your help to raise $1,500 before February 15 to secure a spot in the race. I need to raise an additional $3,500 by May to participate in this race, totaling $5,000 in fundraising needs.
By participating in this cycing ride, I hope to give others the hope of closure that everyone affected cancer deserves. I ask that you consider donating towards my fundraising goal and help me help others.
Again, thank you for visiting my page!
-Will
