Willow’s Medical Expenses
hey guys,
Willow is struggling with the ability to walk. He needs our help figuring out why.. He is unable to stand up on his own or walk without falling.. Seeing him go through this is absolutely devastating.
Having Willow as my team-mate in this world has been such a blessing. With his calm, sturdy, reassuring presence, I've always been able to look to him for support.
Right now, he needs support from all of us.
After three vet appointments, Willow is being referred to a neurologist for further testing, including an MRI. The low end estimate for this appointment is $3,000.. If he needs surgery the estimate is $7000 . His last three appointments all together were just over $1000.
While having no idea if/when I will receive unemployment/relief check (like so many!)and with having spent the last of bit of money I have on this ordeal.. I have to reach out and ask for your help.
I realize that many of you are in a tough position financially, due to current circumstances. It truly pains me to have to ask for financial donations, especially while there is so much deficit and need in our communities.
but here I am..
Any amount you can offer will helpful,
Sharing this with friends will go a long way!!
More about what’s going on below-
_____________________________________________________________
On April 8th, Willow was limping ever so slightly, I thought that he was just feeling a little stiff..He's an active guy. The next day his limp was more pronounced, seemingly from his front legs..
When I brought him to the vet, they weren't able to tell me much, just that nothing seemed broken. They gave him some pain relievers and said to give it some time.
On April 18th, he went back to the vet, as his limping and energy level worsened. Using all of his strength, he is only able to take a
few steps at a time. After doing a few physical/reflex tests, they believe that the issue may be neurological. The vet referred us to a neurologist at the Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center (PVSEC).
Today he went to PVSEC, where he had an emergency consultation, several radio-graphs, lab work, and some well needed pain medicine. They agreed that the issue may be neurological and want to proceed with further testing.
The deposit for the neurologist and the MRI is $3,000. This is a necessary step in order to get to the bottom of the issue, so that we can better understand how to get him on his way recovery. Although I cannot do this alone, I am going to do everything in my power to work with him so that he can enjoy life again. I am confidant we will get him there.
Here's a couple videos of Willow in all of his glory, being his agile and joyful self. While watching, please envision him being this way in the near future, as we journey towards this goal.
