The Willows Inn Staff Relief Fund

Dear Friends,

A little more than a week ago, we were all buzzing around the restaurant and inn with excitement, anticipation and earnestness to begin what was slated to be our best (and tenth!) season at the Willows Inn! Our hearts and spirits were collectively broken when we had to delay our opening until the foreseeable future due to the severity of the current pandemic sweeping the world.

And it couldn't have come at a worse time for our team, after being closed for the past three months for winter, this unexpected delay is hitting our staff when they needed their steady pay the most.

As a company we have done our best to pay our staff for as long as we can but without being able to open it has quickly become an impossibility for us. While we are reaching out for support to our local government officials to press the dire necessity for hospitality related assistance, we also need to pursue other options to help our staff. 

Which leads us to now, we are asking for assistance from our neighbors, guests, friends and family alike to help support our team here on Lummi Island. We know these are trying times for our community, but every bit helps, and this relief fund will 100% go directly to our employees to help them weather the storm.

We are hopeful that we will be able to reopen in the coming weeks; meanwhile, we appreciate your consideration in supporting our Willows Inn family. Our staff makes up a big portion of why a visit out to Lummi Island is so special. We would be nothing without their drive, big smiles and compassion.
