Help me kick Cancer's Ass!

As a single mom of 4, I have ALLways worked hard to provide for my family. However, facing this diagnosis has been a monumental challenge, in every possible way! With treatments well underway, I have been unable to work for some time now, which has left us really struggling to make ends meet. My adult children have both stepped up and are contributing financially to help keep the house running, & every application has gone in from my end to secure interim financial supports, but I'm still waiting as the processing takes its sweet time. All of our efforts just aren't enough to keep the collectors at bay.

My children are my world, my r'aison d'être, and seeing them worry about me breaks my heart! They've had to witness their mother undergo a nasty hospital stay, multiple procedures, painful and exhausting treatments & endure all the uncertainty that comes with a cancer diagnosis. Despite their absolutely incredible resilience, I worry about the toll that this experience is taking on them.

The reality is, fighting cancer is not just physically and emotionally draining - it is also financially burdonsome. It's all but breaking me that they are feeling that end of things too. From medical expenses (which have been out-of-pocket until only recently) to bills and everyday expenses, the costs add up so very quickly. As the sole provider for my family, I'm faced with the daunting task of navigating this journey without a steady income (since November of last year, when my health REALLY started to decline).

I am reaching out to YOU, my community, my people, my soul tribe, for your support during this challenging time. I am about to embark on the next leg of the journey which entails new and more invasive treatment protocols. I will be travelling to London (Ontario) for Internal 3D radiation brachytherapy, where I will be admitted to hospital to have devices implanted to receive treatments, twice, for a week each time, with a week in between. Because of the distance I must travel and the current state of my health, it may make the most sense for me to stay in London rather than return home for a few days in between these 2 treatment cycles, meaning a hotel stay would be required, if that's the case (still figuring out the logistics on this one). Your generosity can help alleviate some of the financial strain & stress and allow me to focus on what truly matters : beating cancer and coming home to BE with my children.
