Willow and Airlie’s Emergency Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Natalia and Shae are soon to be parents of identical twin girls, Willow & Airlie. As of Tuesday, April 4th, Natalia was admitted to the hospital here locally in Wilmington and immediately referred to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD and scheduled for emergency surgery first thing the next morning. At 27 weeks and 2 days, they were diagnosed with late stage Twin Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). The severity of their case was unlike most, given the stage of pregnancy and increase amniotic fluid imbalance. This caused a severe amount of pain and discomfort to Natalia forcing them to have to take extra interventions during the procedure itself and extremely scary odds for a successful and healthy outcome for all 3 of them.
Thankfully, as of the afternoon on Friday, April 7th the follow up scans showed the surgery was a success and now Natalia and Shae are home safely and she is on bed rest for the next few weeks. Between the cost of the hospital stay, the procedure, travel, missed work, prescription costs, and after care, the financial impact of this unfortunate event is quite large. Any help anyone is able to offer them during this time would mean so much to them.
Natalia is the most kind, caring, and genuine person. In the time I have known her it is very clear how excited she has been to become a mom. These circumstances have not made it easy. Right now her main goal is to make it as far along in her pregnancy as possible for the health of her and her babies. The physical and emotion strain she has endured in this rare case has been beyond what most could imagine. Any financial support you can offer would help to alleviate added financial stress during a very trying time. Thank you all for your support! :)
