This is my brother Willie Young Jr. Pictured with him is our mother. This Picture was taken during one of his many stays at the hospital this year. My brother has been battling Lupus since he was 9years old. My brother went from mild symptoms to Severe symptoms to life threatening symptoms very quickly at a Young age. He was in acoma for months and when he came out of it had to learn to do everything over again. Learn to walk, talk, eat on his own, and sustain again. But, by the grace of God he overcame those adversities. Despite being disabled he learned how to live again and became very independent. It wasn't easy with all the drs, therapy treatments, surgeries, medications, and the different medical opinions. In the recent months my brother has been in and out the hospital 14 times this year along. Each time he came out on top but the pain was still there the wounds started to return and it was starting to.feel like the beginning all over again. He went to the hospital Friday April, 19th 2024 with difficulties breathing. We found out he had pneumonia. Not only that during testing we were told that his kidneys were failing and needed to start dialysis immediately. Upon further testing his lungs were failing and filled with fluids. Saturday night April 20th they made the decision to sedate him and put him on a ventilator due to the severity of him not being able to breathe. From there things started to go downhill. He was seen by many specialist, many test were performed, they did everything possible but couldn't figure out why he was so sick. He was taken off of sedation but wasn't waking up. We were told he could recover with the last procedure and test they were going to perform. Unfortunately the drs were at a lost as he did not respond to the procedure or treatment and was now on the highest amount of medication allowed to keep him with us. Sunday April 28th upon our visit to spend time with him; we were told to gather family and to be with him in his final moments that nothing us could be done. While this was the worst news imaginable we're grateful we got to be with him in his finals moments unto the very end. We would love nothing more than to honor my brothers life the way he survived and overcame adversities. Please help us bury him sooner than later and send him home beautifully. No amount is to sad and prayers are always welcomed. Thank you from a loving big sister and family.
