In honor of what would have been Coach Willie Tate’s 70th birthday, we are opening up this GoFundMe as a way to honor him and raise money for his scholarship.

This will be the third year we are not able to do our memorial Willie A Tate Run/Walk to raise money for the scholarship fund.

 This fundraiser commemorates longtime local coach, teacher and mentor to many at Portola High School, Willie A. Tate, who passed away in 2000. The funds go towards the Heart and Soul scholarship where we award two Portola High Seniors during the Senior awards dinner.  The inscription on the award plaque commends the recipients, those “who embody the strengths of sportsmanship, motivation and dedication inspired by Mr. Tate.”
