On July 26th, 2022, at 9:30 pm, Willie James Raspberry lost his battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer in 2021 and has fought hard to survive. Throughout his journey, he was in and out of the hospital, getting treatment and traveling to Houston to see an expert oncologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center. This battle has been challenging as Willie was the heartbeat of the Raspberry family. He and his wife Debra have been married for 45 years and have five kids and 13 grandchildren. Willie was a devoted man of faith. He moved his family from Gary, Indiana to Eagan, MN to start Spirit of Truth Church. He assisted in building and growing the congregation to this very day. Willie not only spread fatherly wisdom, he remained faithful to the word of God and embodied what it meant to be Christ like. He served everyone in his family and community first before himself. He was a true treasure of a man.
