On January 26th, our neighbors Dennis and Cathy Williams experienced a devastating house fire. The fire took the lives of Dennis and their dogs, Lucy and Samson.
The Williams have lived in Country Woods East for over 20 years and have been one of the most generous families and the house is the center of so many memories for a large amount of people who have lived and live in the neighborhood.
Cathy is a long time nurse at Carolinas Healthcare System on the cardiac transplant team. She is an active member and volunteer at Mount Harmony Baptist church where she and Dennis attended church.
I personally met Dennis the first day my family and I moved into our house 2 doors down from the Williams. It was so amazing the amount of generosity and welcome that we received from them. The Williams are family to so many of us in the neighborhood.
Our neighborhood and the community grieves for the loss of such a great man and for the heartbreak that his wife suffers now. Nothing will be able to replace all that was lost in this fire. However, please consider a donation to help Cathy recover some of the material losses.
The donations are not for funeral costs since those have already been taken care of but will be going directly to Cathy's sister Beth, at Cathy's request, to help with any expenses she might have going forward.
