We are excited to be a part of Tulsa's Route 66 and have just been approved to receive some help with the costs of a Neon Sign, through Tulsa's Neon Sign Grant! We are now asking our friends if they might help a little more.
A sign like this (neon was required as a condition of our lease) can cost tens of thousands of dollars.
We have always been about helping Tulsa be a more interesting, attractive and magical place for everyone who lives, and visits here. We work to create events like the Meadow Gold Market Days where local artists and craftsmen can sell their creations, and we carry locally made items in our store. We even worked to create the DECOPOLIS Tulsa Art Deco Museum!
Just a few of the ways DECOPOLIS works to be more than just a store, but a magical attraction, and a friend that helps Tulsa to be a better place.
Our area of Route 66 already has some great attractions and neon signs, like the giant Meadow Gold sign, and Buck Atom's Cosmic Curios with their new neon sign!
Our new DECOPOLIS, Neon Shooting Star sign will compliment the giant "Paper Moon" photo op that stands in front of our store. The sign will be approximately 6 feet tall and 18 feet long! The center of the star will feature blinking lights and then several bands of neon. The center of each letter will have neon bands, and behind, on the 3 stripes, will be lights that flash from left to right, creating a shooting star effect!
Thank you so much for any help in adding this fun new neon sign to the heart of Tulsa's historic Route 66!
(Even just $20 from 100 of our friends would get us most of the way to our goal!)
