Bill Webber loved a good story! If you stopped in long enough, he'd tell you one. He believed stories have the power to change the world, and that humor is a universal language with the power to heal. Bill had a twinkle in his eye. When his children were young, he insisted a boy named Bertram lived under the seat in his car and entertained everyone with his outlandish adventures. 

He also believed that humor writing was a craft, and much admired those who excelled at it. Bill loved a tall tale or a surprise ending. 

In his honor, his family is establishing an annual prize to be given for humor writing. Short stories and essays are both encouraged, fiction or non-fiction doesn't matter as much as the love and craft that goes into the telling. 

It will mean a lot to remember Bill in this positive, ongoing way, and to support others who use their creativity. The family thanks you from their hearts.
