An amazing father of three Monrovia high schoolers needs some help! William is 41 years old with no previous ailments or medical conditions and was suddenly stricken by what he thought was vertigo from an impeding migraine. 3 hours later he found himself in the Stroke triage of USC medical (Methodist) Hospital in Arcadia. William had a rare stroke on the left side of his brainstem between his medula and pons. This unfortunately has led to complications called Wallenberg Syndrome that can last from 3 months, to a year to possibly longer that will affect his ability to work, commute, and to have quality of life. At this point he is unable to swallow at all, open his left eye, and stand/walk without assistance. He is fully aware and alert and fighting to recover quickly. He was working full time and does have some benefits at a lower percent, but had also just received a 60 day notice to move him and his children from their rented home by July 1st 2025 in Monrovia where they have rented since 2011 (due to upgrades and sale of the property). The landlord is going to give a great reference to move but William was planning on working overtime for the next two months trying to save up to move. Anything helps, as we are not sure how long he will be out of work and he needs the assistance to move.
