Will’s Family is Fundraising in Memory of William Mitchell: Fly Free Will
Dear friends and family,
With profound sadness, we share the news of the sudden passing of William Jerome Mitchell, Will, “Wild Bill,” an extraordinary brother, a beloved son, and a cherished friend whose life was tragically cut short. William lived life to the fullest, embracing each moment with an open heart and an adventurous spirit. He had a sense of humor like no other. An incredibly talented videographer, a seasoned skydiver, an accomplished base jumper, and a renowned wing suit pilot.
William’s passion for life was matched only by his humility and his boundless love for those around him. His ability to light up a room with his smile and generosity knew no bounds, leaving us with memories we will forever hold dear.
As we navigate this difficult time, we face the immediate challenge of giving Will the send-off he deserves—one that honors his vibrant spirit and the indelible mark he left on our lives.
To this end, we are reaching out for support to cover preparation arrangements and memorial services that will allow his friends and family to celebrate his life and say their final goodbyes. We are also managing travel expenses to ensure that we can get William and his belongings home and for the travel of his family and those he holds dear to pay their respects and be able to attend the celebration of life gathering out west, no matter where they are in the world.
This GoFundMe campaign is established to gather funds for:
- Preparation expenses for Will
- Two Memorial services and arrangements - one out west and one in Georgia.
- Travel and accommodation for Will’s family and for bringing William and his belongings to home to Georgia.
We ask for your support in any form, whether donating, sharing this campaign, or sending comforting words, photos or videos, and your memories of William. Your kindness during this time is a testament to the love and community that William always believed in.
In honoring William’s adventurous spirit and the love he had for the skies, we say, “BSBD, Fly free, Will.” May you soar high, unburdened and free, in the eternal blue.
We are immensely grateful for your support, love, and kindness as we come together to remember a life so beautifully lived but too soon lost. May we all live a life so full.
Thank you from all of us who loved Will dearly.
