On the 20th January 2024, the world very sadly lost a young man who brought nothing but love, happiness, laughter and enjoyment to every single person around him. Will was a hardworking, witty character who was full of ideas, lightened up every room he walked into and was genuinely loved by everyone around him.
Towards the end of Wills life, he suffered with an immune deficiency disorder called Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) and was also diagnosed with Lung Cancer.
HLH can result in an infection triggering the immune system to produce too many cells. Instead of fighting the infection, these new cells attack the body and make you even more ill.
Whilst Will was in hospital, a charity called Giddo’s Gift massively supported him. The charity was created in memory of Jordan Giddins, who also passed away due to HLH.
The charity improves the lives of teenagers and young people battling cancer. They provide financial help, wishes and treats. The charity provides bereavement grants to families and also support research into Childhood cancer by raising funds for research.
In memory of will, in the summer of 2024, the family and friends of Will will be hiking up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) via the Llanberis path to raise funds for the Giddos Gift charity. If you wish to participate in the hike, please join the WhatsApp group with the link below.
