Willem's Way

Hi, my name is Willem and I have Dystonic Cerebral Palsy, having been delivered 15 weeks premature because my Mum got sick with a severe form of Pre-eclampsia (HELLP's). I was diagnosed at 11months and started at Cerebal Palsy Education Centre for all my therapy when I was 2years old. My type of cerebral palsy makes it hard to control and perform specific actions. I need special equipment and assistance to sit, stand, eat and do activities.

I spend alot of time in hospital with colds and flus.

Mum and Dad need alot financial help with therapy fees, gap funding for splints and ongoing house modifications as I grow.  We are not on NDIS yet.
I also need postural body splints, hand and leg and foot splints and medical equipment.

I  have had  brain surgery recently  but will also be needing several other surgical interventions in the near future to assist with managing my condition.

At the moment we are gap fundraising for my postural body splint($4,000) with the gap costing Mum and Dad $1,600.  I need a new one of these every year.
