Willard Police Athletic League
The Willard Police Athletic League (PAL) continues to grow. Since 2009, we have mentored hundreds of youth using the Pillars of Personal Character (Responsibility, Honor, Discernment, and Self Control). Our focus has been through sports like boxing and Jiu Jitsu, but recently we have expanded our program to the great outdoors and we need your help to meet our goals.
In 2017, the community came together to create the DARE / PAL Character Camp, which was the winner of the 2018 Missouri Municipal League's Innovation Award. The camp grounds are situated on a 49-acre tract of city owned land, five short minutes from the Willard Police Department. Camp adventures include youth camp outs, bonfires, orienteering, hiking and much more. PAL Character Camp is fun and educational. It allows a safe place for kids to experience the outdoors, engage in healthy play and master new skills.
Keeping the campgrounds maintained has been a challenge. We need a tractor to properly care for the grounds and trail ways. With your help we can not only purchase a tractor (and components), but continue our mission to help youth grow into well rounded citizens.
We have selected a 2011 Kubota 2660. It has a front-end loader, belly mower and a box blade. There are only 372 hours on the motor and it is the best value we have found. Our goal is to raise $11,000. Any moneys we receive in excess of this amount will be used to fund our well-established program.
For questions or more information, feel free to call Willard PAL Director, Tom McClain at (417) [phone redacted]. Check out the KY3 link below referencing our unique program. More information is available on our Willard PAL website and find us on Facebook. Willard PAL is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Please take time to donate, every dollar counts!
