Hi my name is donna and I'm trying to raise vital funds to help save my big boy Ted.

New years day Ted became a little well he couldn't move or get comfortable so we took him to the emergency vets at st george's in town. They gave him some pain relief and fluids to soften his feces and sent him home. Within a few hours later I could see that Ted was still not well and was deteriorating so we took him back and he was admitted over night for tests.

The following morning I had a phone call to come to the vets and asking me if anything happens before I get there did I want Ted resusitated as you can imagine this broke me Ted is my world my everything.

When at the vets they told me he had a temperature of 39. 7 his blood pressure was high and his heart rate was 220.

They suggested to transfer him to blaise veterinary hospital in Birmingham for specialist care.

Before we could transfer Ted we had to pay £4000 as blaise do not take direct claims from your insurance.

This made my son travis apply for a £6000 vet loan which allowed us to bring him over.

The 45 minute journey was not nice as we wasn't sure if Ted was going to make it.

At arrival at blaise they were awaiting at reception with a trolley and Ted was taken straight into intensive care.

He was stabalized and taken for a CT scan which showed his abdomen was full of fluid he was then taken straight into thetre and was opened up to see what was going on. Ted was in thetre for 5 hours with us not knowing what was happening.

Then the bad news came Ted had an ulcer in his stomach which had a big hole in it and was leaking fluid into his stomach which has know caused Ted to have sepsis.

In the operation they managed to close the hole but with the size of it and where it is positioned they had use damaged tissue which could cause complications possibly whith in the next days.

His post opp has been stressfull they havnt managed to stabilize him until today with his bloods and heart rate going up and Ted is still leeking 200ml of fluids every couple of hours. Ted is currently been given plasma which is donated dog blood. This is costing £170 per bag and Ted is having 2 bags every 3 hours because of him being a big boy 58kg.

They have still said alltho Ted has been settled today we are still over the worse and he may not still pull through.

The next few days are critical.

We are £12,500 pounds in to his treatment which we have managed to cover with everything we have. This bill is due to go up again on Monday at £1000 per day until he is stable enough to come off the plasma. Hopefully Ted will still. Be with us .
