Hello, my name is Rondell Clarkson.

On December 5, 2024, I had my leg amputated. Before then, I built my life and career on being active—working in outside sales, truck leasing, and as a loss control inspector. I’ve been working since I was 14, and every job I’ve ever had required me to be on my feet.

I received my prosthetic leg on July 3, 2025, but recovery is a long process—doctors estimate it may take up to 12 months before I can walk without assistance. That means I need to build a new future, one where I can work from home.

Like a fisherman who loses his boat, I’ve lost the tools I once relied on. To get back to work, I need to learn new skills, earn certifications, and cover my basic living costs (rent, utilities, and supplies) while I retrain.

I’m not asking for a handout. I’ve always been a worker, and I want to work. I simply need help building this new “boat” so I can get back out there. After some research, I am looking to get certified in coding/network security. That will be my new “boat.”
