There are a few things in life which can be as heart breaking as seeing a helpless father unable to do anything about his son's illness.
Having spent his entire life away from home, working as a low wage worker in the searing heat of the Arabian Desert lands, earning barely enough to feed his family of three back in Sivagangai, near Madurai India, 56 year old Abdul Muthalif would have dreamed of someday 'retiring' to go back home and seeing a secure and healthy future for his family. But Alas !
Sheikh Abdullah is his 22 year old son. Both of Sheikh's kidneys have stopped functioning about three months ago ( May, 2018). He is currently being treated at the Shastha Kidney and Multi specialty Hospital in Madurai and undergoing Dialysis treatment twice a week, with the Medical expenses amounting to Rs. 40,000 per month . Sheikh would however need a kidney transplant in the long run for boosting his chances of Survival.
Abdul Muthalif has left his low wage labor job in Saudi Arabia and has returned home to be with his ailing son, perhaps waking up each day and giving him and his family hope that everything is going to get well soon. Hope, as they say, is what keeps life running !
As the family stands together in this face of adversity, hoping that things will fall in place, as a close relative of this family and whom I love dearly, I am fully aware of the financial difficulties the family is facing with regard to both their living and medical expenses. A close group of family and friends have been supporting the family so far, but with limited financial means, this is going to hit the ceiling soon.
But deriving hope from the family itself, I know that there is a world of unknown saviors and unsung heroes out here, perhaps reading these very lines right now, who have in the past saved and will continue to save fellow humans and the less fortunate ones from miseries purely out of compassion , goodwill and an empathy for others' sufferings.
So, I call upon your loving heart to contribute for helping this brave heart family.
