Will Tomlin’s Cancer Medical Fund

Will is my brother in law ( my sister Meagan’s husband) Our family has been on a roller coaster ride since Monday 7/24/23.

7/24/23: Will had a seizure at work, transported by ambulance to IMH

7/25/23: We saw neurologist Dr. Shah who ordered an MRI

7/26/23: MRI showed a brain tumor

7/27/23: Dr. Shah’s office did an EEG: perfect results

7/28/23: Neurosurgery appt with Dr. Laxton at WFBMC

7/31-8/4: Will was able to go to work!

8/4/23: Pre-op for brain surgery

8/7/23: Brain surgery to include biopsy and LITT procedure (newest procedure available, this kills the cells in the tumor)

8/8/23: Went home from hospital, no side effects (Praise God!)

8/9-8/12: at home resting and recoup from brain surgery

8/12/23: The doctor didn’t call but unfortunately the pathology report came in on MyChart: Glioblastoma.

8/14/23: I (Meagan) spoke to both WFMBC and Duke to get opinions on our plan for care. We do know that standard plan of care is surgery - we’ve done that. Next is a daily chemo pill and daily radiation for six weeks, followed by more chemo. During that time, MRIs to watch the tumor. (Let’s be praying now that there is no growth or additions!)

This morning I prayed for wisdom for both us and the doctors. I also prayed that God would open doors and move mountains for appointments and medical opinions to be made quickly. God sure has shown himself faithful today! Both Baptist and Duke called within minutes of each other and both are jumping on this QUICKLY. This is an aggressive disease and we need an aggressive approach. Both hospitals are working with us on that. We’ll make a decision on one team (either WFBMC or Duke) once we hear what both have to say after reviewing before and after MRIs. We appreciate all the prayers, love and support everyone is showing us. We thank God for each of you! If you can’t donate please share and more importantly PRAY!
