Dear Friends and Family,
On March 29th, our dear friend William Salter passed away. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Will knew how contagious his positive energy and heartwarming spirit was. We stuck together since we first met him in elementary school and he holds an irreplaceable spot in our hearts. Will never failed to brighten up a room with his presence. Whenever you needed someone to get people excited or motivated to do fun things, you could always count on him. He accomplished this with his cheeky smile, upbeat attitude, and his uncanny ability to crack jokes.
When Will moved back to Maryland from California, he was a huge part of the Wootton community. He was dedicated to Wootton athletics. On the soccer team, he won a State Championship and on track, his 4x200 relay team set a school record and went to states. You could always see him cracking the biggest smile running around Wootton, both on the field and in the hallways between class.
Our hearts are broken with the loss of Will. We only hope to mirror his joyful attitude and incredible character in our lives, exactly as he would want. Will taught us to always look on the bright side of any situation, and to never take ourselves too seriously. His perspective on life made him the charismatic, fun-loving person that we knew and loved so very much.
In honor of Will, we would like to purchase a memorialization brick at the entrance of Wootton’s stadium so that his legacy and spirit may live on.
**Any funds received in excess of our $2,500 target will go towards two of Will’s greatest passions: GRREAT and Charity Ball. GRREAT is a Golden Retriever Rescue Charity dedicated to finding homes for unwanted, stray, or abandoned Golden Retrievers in the greater DMV area.
