As most of you know, due to Will's recent health setbacks, Molly and Will, along with his parents, are currently in Canada seeking additional naturopathic, integrated treatments.

A little background on their story, Will was diagnosed with a glioma on his brain stem in 2015. Given the location of the tumor, it was deemed inoperable, but Will persevered, shrinking the tumor over 75% by employing a combination of radiation, a strict healthy lifestyle, and other naturopathic modalities. For seven years, Will has lived with this diagnosis, and his lifestyle and treatment have kept the tumor and associated symptoms at bay.

Unfortunately during the summer of 2021, Will’s regular screening showed some new abnormalities in the tumor. As a result, his neuro oncologist prescribed a course of chemotherapy, which Will has been, for the most part, tolerating well with two instances of the tumor shrinking.

However, in the past couple months, they have received devastating news. Will’s tumor has shown substantial growth in a short amount of time. In addition, his mobility and overall daily experience have been compromised, and he deals with chronic, debilitating pain. He was instructed to discontinue chemotherapy immediately, and his neuro oncology team is currently pursuing various proposals for experimental trials.

As we all know, Will is an exceptionally strong and relentless person, so he refused to wait around for approval. In the meantime with guidance from his naturopathic physician in Chicago, they have traveled to Canada for a month to undergo hyperthermia treatments at an integrated health center which have shown promising efficacy in clinical trials.

Since these treatments are not offered in the US and they unfortunately will not be covered by Will’s insurance in Canada, the treatments Will is undergoing are very costly. Therefore, we hope we can team together to help take off some of the financial burden so they have one less thing to worry about.
