Help Will Coy Conquer Cancer

(Note: Will passed away on 3 October 2024. The funds will now be transferred to Will's mum Jules Coy [nee Dorman], for funeral expenses and other loose ends which Will leaves behind)

Our friend Will is having a tough time after being diagnosed with cancer just last week.

Will worked as a woolclasser for weeks through gastro like symptoms and stomach pain before Dubbo Base Hospital started doing more tests. Last week he was sent immediately to the RPA in Sydney via aeroplane with just his clothes he had on his back. He was diagnosed with Burkitts Lymphoma which is a cancer which effects his liver, lungs, bone marrow and lymph nodes.

Will started chemotherapy on Monday which will take 4 months to complete. He will need blood transfusions and may also need dialysis depending on his liver function post therapy.

Will is an only child who lost his sister to blood cancer at 10 years old. His mum is on the disability pension and cares for Wills grandfather.

Will works hard each week in Woolsheds

across the Western Plains and Central West. With costs of living and the secondary costs of treatment in Sydney really starting to hurt; Will needs our help.

A former Dubbo Roos 3rd Grader, Will is one of those blokes that always turns up, has a go and enjoys a beer with the team afterward. I’ve never seen him say a bad word about anyone, and would give the shirt off his back for his mates.
