The Wilks Family has started their road to recovery.
Michelle mother of two, was admitted to the hospital on August 19th with liver failure. Glimmers of hope burned bright in the beginning but became dim as the fall months approached. Trips to the ICU became more frequent. Michelle was very fortunate to be placed on the transplant list. Thanks to the donor program, somebody's tragedy became Michelles miracle. On October 24th 2016 the Wilks family prayers were answered and Michelle was taken into surgery for her liver transplant.
This road to recovery requires a considerable amount of time, love, and physical support. Every patient requires a different amount of rehabilitation but normally ranges from 3-6 months to fully recover from such a complex operation. Michelle is 2 weeks out of surgery and making progress, but is still being closely monitored by doctors and family.
With rehabilitation in full swing Jeremy, and their two daughters will be by Michelle's side through this demanding process. In order to dedicate his time and support around the clock, Jeremy has decided to take a step back from the hospitality industry.
This fund has been created to help relieve some financial stress and pressure as the Wilks family focus on Michelle's health and well being. Any contributions will be used not only to support the Wilks Family, but also to pay months of hospital bills.
