Wilfredo's Battle

Donation protected
We are  starting a GoFundMe on behalf of our friend, co-worker, but most of all our BROTHER IN BLUE. Wilfredo Diaz has been a true warrior in his battle with cancer since 2017. In early December of 2017, his wife noticed that his left eye was slightly protruding more than his right eye. He went to the emergency room where a CT scan was performed and a tumor was discovered pushing his left eye out. Just before Christmas 2017, Wilfredo underwent an extensive and risky Neurosurgery procedure to remove the tumor behind his eye. The tumor was then sent out for pathology where it was confirmed that it was Multiple Myeloma.
From January of 2018 to March of 2018, he received 4 cycles of Chemotherapy which consisted of injected and oral chemo medications. Unfortunately, he did not respond as expected to this treatment. He returned to work two months after his surgery in order to be able to support his family. From April 2018 to May 2018, while working, he received two additional cycles of a different injected and oral chemo medication in which his body did not respond to the treatment as well.
Just recently Wilfredo was admitted to the hospital for an aggressive Chemo therapy which involved four different types of chemo medications mixed together. He was injected for 96 straight hours while also taking daily oral chemo medications. As of right now, Wilfredo is home and taking injections for the next sixteen days which will help his body stimulate the growth of white blood cells to fight infections. In the upcoming days, he will undergo an Autologous Stem Cell Transplant, and will be hospitalized for eighteen days for another high dose cycle of chemotherapy that will hopefully kill the cancer.
Wilfredo is a loving husband and father of three beautiful children ages 6, 2, and soon to be 1 year old. Since Wilfredo’s hire date back in 2013, he has gone above and beyond to do what a husband and father would do for his family. He would work overtime every day, 16 hour shifts, sometimes working 80 hour weeks. Even after working endless hours, Wilfredo still did it all with a smile on his face, and always returned to work exuding joy to our department. He is a humble, caring, and a generous human being that would give the shirt off his back to anyone.
Due to his cancer treatments and his inability to work, Wilfredo’s family is feeling the stress and strain of unpaid bills and every day expenses. Please find it in your heart to contribute in helping this husband, father, friend, and brother in blue pay for upcoming bills without having to worry about his family suffering these financial hardships.
