Hi! We are Mollie and Digger. Two Sprollies who are also known as the "Furry Fundraisers"
In 2015 our Human Julie set us a target of walking 500 miles over the weekends with the aim of raising £1000 over the year in aid of a handful of wildlife rescue sanctuaries. We smashed our target and raised over £2200!!
We set up our own Dog Blog on Facebook
( www.facebook.com/500miles2015 ) to tell our followers all about our walks and fundraising.
As the year came to an end, our wonderful followers did not want us to go, so we agreed to carry on walking.
In 2016 we became "Walk for Wildlife and Woofers", helping dog rescues as well as wildlife. We walked 6 long distance walks that year and almost 700 miles
In 2017 we were "Reservoir Dogs and Trig Point Trekkers" and are aimed to walk to 70 reservoirs / Trig points and raise £3000 during the year for our charities. We raised £3700 and found 72 Trig pillars and reservoirs.
In 2018 we aimed to walk 800 miles but time, weather and illness were against us. We tried our best but fell short by 38 miles. Still, we managed to raise £2828 for wildlife and dog rescues.
In 2019, we were going up in the world and are taking part in Trail Magazines "Everest Anywhere" challenge, climbed the height of Everest (20,029 feet) by tackling lots of hills.
2020 we still walked and did some smaller challenges but we missed having a big one so in 2021 we took part in a virtual run from Lands End to John o Groats, a whopping 874 miles (which is a lot considering we are all getting quite old now and us dogs are terribly difficult to run with!)
In 2022 things are slowing down a little. Us dogs are getting on a bit and the human broke her foot. Hoping to continue to do some smaller challenges in order to support the wildlife and dog rescues.....
For more info please see our Facebook page
In the meantime any donation no matter how small is hugely appreciated. All donations will be split monthly between our charities. Help York's Hedgehogs, Saving Yorkshire's Dogs, Hedgehog Emergency Bingley and H.A P.P.Y.
Many thanks
Mollie, Digger, and Julie xx
