Wild Folk: Nature Education for All!

Tax deductible

We believe that all children need to connect with the natural world so they can grow into ecologically-minded citizens.
It is clear that our Earth needs a generation of nature lovers and protectors! We are raising funds so that we can provide scholarships and transportation for underserved and low-income youth and families. We want to bring outdoor adventures and nature education to as many people as possible - especially those who may have the least access.

The money from this fundraiser will go to providing scholarships for low-income families, free and low-cost programming for the community at large, and to cover the cost of Big Red, our new school van! Big Red will allow us to provide free transportation and serve more families!

For the past four years, Wild Folk has been leading unique and transformative education programs in Mid-Missouri.  This year, we are moving to a beautiful, new farm which will allow us to have a permanent home, studios, a garden, and a creek and forest to explore! Now we can reach a wider community and accept many new students. With growth and change, come many challenges, especially in funding. We have always been a small school, working with parents on tuition costs to make it affordable and accessible to families from all communities. But now we want to do more and make our program even more diverse and equitable!

Wild Folk recognizes that we all want to learn; and we all have different passions and talents to offer our world. Wild Folk’s mission is to honor everyone’s different gifts and learning styles, and to unleash our inherent curiosity and joy. We don't want a family's finances to keep children from falling in love with nature and being their best.

Our program is unique in that we focus on experiential and place-based learning, creative play and self-directed education, conflict resolution, mindfulness, and  collaborative community-building. Our pedagogy taps into enduring traditions as well as the latest educational research to help adults and youth explore deeply, grow more resilient, connect with nature, and serve the community. We ground our work in ecological awareness and a love of wilderness, encouraging the growth of compassionate citizens at the vanguard of a regenerative culture.

Wild Folk is collaborating with Bohemian Arts Collective, a local nonprofit, to receive tax-deductible donations. Any donation will help make an impact and we are grateful for any contribution you can make!
