Wildfires took everything: help my friend Jody and her son
Donation protected
Hi everyone. One of my dearest, most wonderful friends, Jody (Johanna) Tolan, and her son, Petey, lost their home in Altadena in the Eaton/Los Angeles wildfires. They lost everything in a matter of hours -- and are now dealing with the devastation, grief, and chaos of trying to "remain stable", find temporary housing, continue to work, follow up with insurance, administrative tasks... the list goes on.
I have had the privilege of knowing Jody for a decade since we both were professors at University of Southern California. We've led student trips together, taught classes, done lots of walks around campus and neighborhoods that are now decimated. She is a terrific, dedicated mother, colleague, friend to many. She has volunteered for charity for years, and always, always is there to lend a hand to anyone in need. Now she and Petey are in need. We know thousands of people (many of our friends) who have lost everything in the fires. Our heart grieves. I want to give Jody and Petey as much support as I (we - you!) can to help ease the pain a bit at this time. If you know Jody or Petey - or even if you don't but you want to contribute to a person who needs the support right now - any amount, no matter how small, is truly appreciated. 100% will go to Jody and Petey. Thank you.
The Tolan house before the #Eatonfire. Completely lost in a few hours, as was the neighborhood.
