Help Us Raise $10,000 in 3 Days for the Morse–Fall Lake Fire Department

“Firefighter” can mean many different things—and not every firefighting agency can accept the same support.

U.S. Forest Service and interagency wildland crews are part of a federally managed incident. Their food, water, lodging, equipment, transportation and protective gear are coordinated through Incident Command.

Please do not bring food, supplies, cash, gift cards or other donations directly to USFS crews or fire camp unless officials specifically request them. Unsolicited donations can create food-safety, storage, security and logistical challenges, and federal employees are also subject to strict gift rules.

To support wildland firefighters nationally, please donate to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation, which assists wildland firefighters and their families during injury, hardship and loss. We have been told by firefighters supporting the Ely fires that this organization means a lot to them.

The Morse–Fall Lake Fire Department is different. It is a local volunteer department serving our community. Its firefighters are helping with wildfire response, structure protection, evacuations and public safety while continuing to respond to regular local emergencies.

With permission from department leadership, Ely Community Response is raising $10,000 in three days (by 7/21) for the Morse–Fall Lake Fire Department. Funds will be directed to the department to support its response and operational needs as determined by its leadership.

Creating one organized fundraiser also allows these firefighters to focus on protecting our community instead of responding individually to the overwhelming number of generous calls, messages and offers.
