Wildfire Relief Fund

Every year, powerful wildfires burn millions of acres of land and leave extensive damage in their wake. With more than 75% of western states experiencing drought conditions, forecasters predict that we will have an above-average and dangerous 2021 wildfire season. Indeed, as of this August 2021  update, wildfires have already started in Oregon and California.

In response, we are reopening the Wildfire Relief Fund, an ongoing fund that supports urgent and long-term relief efforts for wildfire victims and those coordinating relief efforts across the US. This includes efforts like erecting temporary shelters, distributing food and water, providing medical care, and more.

Join us in supporting wildfire preparation and recovery efforts today. Your one donation allows us to respond with speed and support a range of needs related to wildfire relief efforts.

With donations made to this ongoing fundraiser, GoFundMe.org, an independent 501(c)(3), will issue rapid grants to individuals, communities and organizations that have either been impacted themselves or are dedicated to helping those affected by wildfires.

The Wildfire Relief Fund is currently supporting those affected by the following wildfires and will update when new fires break out:
 - River fire, California
 - Tamarack fire, California
 - Beckwourth Complex fire, California
 - Bootleg fire, Oregon
 - Dixie fire, California
 - Caldor Fire, California
 - Cache Fire, California
 - Washington Fire, California
 - Hopkins Fire, California

Please note: All funds raised during a calendar year will benefit wildfire victims of the same year. For example, the 2020 wildfire season donations supported those affected by 2020 wildfires, and so forth. As of 8/9/21 we have reopened the fund for the 2021 season.

For the 2020 wildfire season, $435,580 was raised and the whole amount, less the payment processing fees on the GoFundMe platform, was granted to organizations  providing relief and individuals/communities in need of wildfire relief.

Funds raised on this campaign will be managed by GoFundMe.Org, an independent non-profit organization registered in the United States (EIN 81-2279757). Donors support the GoFundMe.Org fund and GoFundMe.Org selects and then distributes donations to verified GoFundMe campaigns and aid to organizations that help those affected. Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
