WildFire Recovery Fund for Fulop-Furlano Family
Donation protected
My sister Sarah, her husband Dan, and my nephew Marek (14), nieces Mila (7), Nika (4) lost everything they own last night in the CZU Lightning Complex Fires that are currently ravaging Northern California. All five of them are safe. Since the storms over the weekend caused their power to go out Sunday, they had been staying at a hotel so my nieces and nephew can "go to" school online. They unfortunately only had a few nights of belongings packed. The fires destroyed everything they owned, including irreplaceable relics of our dads, grandparents, and everything I have watched them work so hard to cultivate. They lost their kitty and chickens as well. My heart breaks for them, this year has been challenging enough and to imagine them now facing this is unfathomable.
For anyone that lives in the Santa Cruz area, you know finding a home to rent for a family of five is not going to be easy or cheap, not to mention having only the clothes on their backs to start over with. The kids only have what they packed for the hotel. I cannot imagine the feeling of displacement they are going through. My heart goes out to my nieces and nephew, its been a hard adjustment to be out of school, virtual schooling, and now losing everything. I know and believe my family will get through this, but we can't do it alone. Any monetary donation provided will go towards helping this family rebuild from the ground up. It will go towards renting a home for their family of five and to begin gathering clothes, household items and furniture. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to anyone who is able to contribute.
