Oak Fire Loss: Carol Lewis's Home in Mariposa
Donation protected
Please donate to help Grandma Carol as she recovers from the loss of her beloved home. We called this place "shangri la" because it was like a few acres of heaven on earth. The Oak Fire that started on July 22 has ripped through the area, burning 20,000 acres in just a few days. Evacuation orders came with no warning and Carol got out with nothing but her dog, her car, and the clothes on her back. Today we heard that her property is a total loss! Imagine everything you own gone in the blink of an eye!
Carol has devoted her life to serving others...working for the park service for many years and continuing to work in her golden years to make ends meet. She is widowed from my father-in-law and though she is safe and staying with a niece, this will be a long, hard road for her as she tries to piece her life together amid devastating loss. Obviously, she can't work right now and her future is very uncertain over the next few months as she navigates this horrible tragedy. All funds will support Carol directly. Thank you for your support and prayers.
