Hi my name is Crystal Savage. I’m a working class, low income, Black woman. I've lived in Altadena for almost 10 years. I don't have family in L.A. but the people here embraced me anyway. I'm devastated at the destruction of my community. Like many people here, I've been affected by the fires in Eaton Canyon and Altadena. I was on my way home from the grocery store when I got the evacuation notice.

I left on foot with the clothes on my back and 2 cartons of eggs. I've been crashing on couches when I can and staying in motels when I can't.

I don't know what state my apartment is in but I need help. I already applied for FEMA assistance and the Airbnb list, but I have heard nothing from them. I'd like to be able to buy food, clothing, and pay for shelter as needed.
