During the third week of August 2025 we have been battling one of the worst fires in European history once again.

More than 60.000 hectares of precious land in the Serra de Açor mountains in Arganil (Central Portugal) have been turned to ash. Compared to the national disaster of 2017, this time we received a lot of air support as well as on the ground and luckily most houses and villages were saved. Nevertheless a disaster of this scope brings a lot of additional costs, a burden that we personally can not carry.

Over the coming months we will invest all our time, skills and energy to help the land regenerate and repair the essential infrastructure that is damaged in order to do so. I am asking for contributions to help with the costs of replacing the cables for the solar system and electricity, water tanks and piping, toilet and showe, petrol to keep the forestry machines running to clean up the mess, as well as some essential tools and harvest/produce that is lost.
