Help Fund the Production of Wild Heart Short Film

It has taken me the better part of 30 years, to tell my story, But my story is shared with millions around the world. It is a story in which some never get the chance to tell.

I was born with Congenital heart disease/defects. This condition is one of the most common types of birth defects, and yet when ever I share my story with anyone outside of the CHD community, it is a condition that seems all too rare.

For those unsure what Congenital Heart Disease/Defects is, it is a condition that every 1 in 100 babies are born with and is a condition that effects the structure of the heart. Every case is different and unique to the individual, quite like a fingerprint.

There is no cure or prevention to the condition and roughly 69% of babies born with critical CHD are expected to survive to at least 18 years of age.

At the end of last year I lost a beautiful friend, who I met after undergoing my second open heart surgery. She had previously just undergone her fifth. She was my beacon of hope, the person I knew I could talk to and she would just get it.

She was an advocate for the CHD community and she was always pushing to spread awareness and strive for change and better understanding. Sadly, her heart was failing her, and she finally received the gift of new life through a heart transplant.

She was a true heart warrior. But sadly in September due to a number of complications she gained her wings.

In her honour and of all past, present and future heart kids and adults. I put pen to paper, and made it my mission to keep not only my friends legacy alive but that of every heart kid and adult.

To share a story that so many know all too well.

"Wild heart" is a drama inspired by true events that explores the profound journey of love, loss, and resilience and aims to depict the complexities of the human spirit in the face of adversity. Through the central characters' experiences, it delves into themes of identity, mental turmoil, and grief, ultimately highlighting the enduring power of love to transcend even life's most challenging trials. The films’ central characters include a woman who is grappling with a heart condition and her lover who supports her through her struggles while accepting his own distress. "Wild Heart" seeks to evoke deep emotional resonance in its audience, encouraging reflection on the fragility of life, the strength found in love, and the resilience needed to navigate through difficult times. By exploring the highs and lows of the characters' journey, the film aims to inspire empathy, understanding, and appreciation for the profound impact of love and life on the human experience.
Through heartfelt narration and intimate storytelling, we hope to take viewers on a journey weaving together moments of joy, sorrow, and profound introspection.
