On Tuesday, we woke up to Wilbur vomiting, refusing to eat or drink water, and generally -- sad. After more than 2 days without food or water, four visits to his regular vet and two to the emergency veterinarian, we discovered that Wilbur had a large mass of plastic in his stomach that had lodged itself and started to tear his small intestine.
Thanks to the incredible care he received from Hope Center Advanced Veterinarian, Wilbur had the mass removed -- along with 1/4 of his intestines, and was able to come home this morning.
We love this little guy to the end of the earth and would do anything for him -- including spending nearly $7,000 in medical bills.
We've never asked for help like this, and Wilbur is most certainly our responsibility, but we also know that when one of our friends needs help, we give it. We're hoping that karma comes back to us a little.
Whether you can help or not, we so appreciate all of the love, support and check-ins this week. Wilbur is a lucky pup and so are we to have him and wonderful friends and family who care.
