Hi, my name is Wilbert Valentine, the only son and only child of Wilbert Valentine Jr., a native of Morgan City, Louisiana, a former resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Houston, Texas, and who unexpectedly died July 20, 2022, at a hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. My dad, who was a kidney dialysis patient for over 16 years, somehow was found to have an abnormal level of lead poisoning in his body. Upon getting him to the hospital, he was discovered to have the Corona Virus ( Covid-19) and related infections. He was never treated for the lead poisioning due to some confusion; and because the Corona Virus took precedent. After being strong all those years, it was not his kidneys that caused his untimely death. I can barely finish this for the tears and crying. My dad was a born-again, new creature in Christ: we baptized each other. So I know without a doubt he is with the Lord Jesus Christ, even the Lord God. My dad died without insurance, although we had just mapped out a plan to get him some, as he was generally healthy, and we had been planning for the next ten years together. We were just in the middle of moving closer to family in the Morgan City, St Mary Parish and New Orleans area when his death occurred; And to make matters worse, only hours after he passed and hearing of his death, his neighbors broke into his (our) apartment and ransacked the entire apartment, stealing money, clothes, a little bit of everything. The whole apartment was packed up and ready to move out things out! They overturned every box, even taking a bed and mattress and box spring out of the apartment. With that said, I ask our friends, family, nurses, doctors, business associates, and businesses he loved and patronized for so many years to donate to assist in funeral and burial expenses and family expenses during this time. Of course, whatever you are willing to give shall be appreciated and considered a blessing of grace to us. Too, my dad told me that his favorite flowers are red roses, palms and orchids. So if you would like to send flowers of any kind, you may send them to Jones Funeral Home located at 715 Sixth Street, Morgan City, Lousiana 70380; our goal is at least the basic burial, which does not include flowers or church or auditorium service, or any other expenses.
In Jesus' name, we give thanks to God, and for each and everyone of you, and thanks to all of you in advance for your support. The tentative date for service is listed below but may change due to funding. Too, it is more expensive to have a weekend burial service, which would be better for most, than a less costly weekday service.
