Hi, my name is Kathy and this GoFundMe is to help our dear friend, Nathalie. As you may know, Nathalie is currently undergoing chemotherapy for stage two breast cancer. 

 She has completed two of the four chemo sessions and has been diligently researching and doing everything she can to minimize the extreme potential side effects of the treatments. These side effects can include major hair loss, as well as neuropathy in her hands and feet. She has engaged a paid service called Dignitcap, which is essentially an ice machine that freezes your scalp during the chemotherapy treatment aiming to prevent hair loss. However, there’s only a 60 to 70% chance that patients who use this will not experience substantial hair loss. 

 If you know Nathalie, you’re familiar with her beautiful and bountiful red hair. Prior to beginning her cancer treatments, she cut it in a fun short style and dyed it blue, teal, and purple which looks so amazing! I have been helping with her care and hair care during and after the chemo treatments. Even with the Dignitcap treatments, she is experiencing hair loss. This is truly devastating for anybody who loves their hair. 

 This fundraiser is a surprise for her, which she will find out about once it is released publicly. I am hoping we can raise money to purchase wigs for her. With wigs during treatment and the recovery after, she will have the ability to continue to have the hairstyles she wants. It is abjectly heartbreaking to watch her hair loss even though she is doing everything she can do to preserve it. 

The wigs I am finding are roughly $500 each. My hope is that we’d be able to buy two or three wigs and some care products with this money to help her feel more like herself through this process.
