Wigs for kids who have lost hair through cancer
I'm Kellie 41 years old. I have recently been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma Grade 3 breast cancer. I am now on my journey of treatment which is chemotherapy for 16 weeks! If all sessions go ahead as planned the final one will be Tuesday 19th December 23. Surgery, Radiotherapy and hormone treatment will then follow in 2024.The first fear of chemo was am I going to loose my hair! I don't want to have the anxiety of my hair appearing in my brush or on my pillow so decided I would brave the shave in advance. It was then I started to look into how I could donate my hair. I then came across the Little Princess Trust and decided it was something I would like to raise money for .The Little Princess Trust provides a free real hair wig for children when they lose their hair to cancer, to help restore their confidence and identity. You can help us give hair and hope to children and young people, by funding real hair wigs and ground-breaking childhood cancer research projects. This is something adults struggle to deal with let alone children. 1 childhood real wig costs £700 to create. Creating this fundraiser gave me something positive to focus on while going through an unknown stage of waiting for treatment as well as prepared my 7 year old daughter to join this journey with me and make it as un nerving and scary for her as possible! . The cause is a very worthy cause. So anything I can raise can help.
