Wife&kids- husband very unwell in hospital
Donation protected
Hi all, my name is Amy and I’m a registered midwife currently living in Ireland. I lived in Australia for a number of years with my Aussie husband and 4 kids and had the joy of meeting my bestie Chrissy Simpson there, who supported me through thick and thin. Chrissy’s husband Simo is currently very unwell in hospital. It started off with pericardial effusion- fluid around his heart- and he was rushed in to A&E while also having seizures. His heartrate and blood pressure were very high and they had to put him on lots of meds and insert a chest drain. As the days have gone on, they still don’t know what is causing this. He has developed pneumonia and his kidneys and liver are starting to struggle. Yesterday the decision was made to put him in an induced coma in the hope that his body would start to recover. So far his heart rate and BP have improved but his kidneys and liver are still struggling and so he has now been put on dialysis in the hope they will improve. Chrissy and Simo have two children, a boy and a girl aged 11 & 8. Chrissy, a midwife herself, is trying to be there for her husband and organise childcare, so she is working around the clock to make it work. Simo is obviously unable to make any financial contribution in his current state. Chrissy is a wonderful friend, mother, woman, midwife, sister, daughter, wife. She has contributed so much to society and the people in her life that have found themselves in a tough place also. Just recently she helped to raise just shy of 12k for a close friend who went through a rough time herself. Chrissy is the first person who will turn up with a smile and ask how can she help. Now it’s her turn to receive help from us. I am setting this up with her sister Katie and setting the goal at 10k. I would however hope to raise more so that she and her family do not have to worry about finances in the coming months and in what is looking like a potentially long road to recovery. Please dig deep, give whatever you can and please please share
