At home on Saturday Jan 25, after a great day at the youth fair with her husband Deputy Brett Hermelbracht and their kiddos,  Melissa Hermelbracht went to go for a ride on the ATV.... This was an everyday thing for the family, they always ride, nothing ever happens, nothing ever goes wrong- On Saturday, the throttle cable was stuck on "wide open"- Melissa didn't know- as she started it up, the ATV took off and she was pinned in between the truck and the ATV- her leg crushed.... muscles and tendons damaged beyond repair.... Melissa was transported as a trauma alert to LRH due to the severity of her injuries... since Saturday she has already had 2 surgeries and is going for her 3rd today... The doctor's still can't say with 100% certainty that she won't lose her leg.... there is still so much damage... We are hopeful and praying that they can stay ahead of the infection- that they can save her leg... Even with that, Melissa, Brett and their family are looking at weeks in the hospital, months of recovery and then physical therapy after that.... This Law Enforcement family is a 2-income family, and the temporary loss of Melissa's income will make this a struggle for them while she is healing.... We owe it to our first responders to be there in their time of need, because they never hesitate to be there when we call- Brett has given his life to serving in Law Enforcement, and Melissa has given her life to him and to raising their children and being an amazing LEO wife- Please help show them that IN THIS FAMILY, NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE! share this as many times as you can- let's get the word out that this family NEEDS OUR HELP!
