Wife & Mother of 2 needs Brain Surgery.

Hello all,

This gofundme has been set up to help a wonderful 29-year-old wife and mother of 2 small children. Samantha.

After struggling for 10 years with unrelenting headaches that have left her bed-bound, along with joint pain, muscle aches, brain fog, fatigue, and among many other distressing and debilitating symptoms she has decided to take control of her life and end the pain and discomfort.

She traveled to South Carolina to meet with a specialized neurosurgeon. During that visit, she finally found answers and was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, craniocervical instability and a large cystic mass on her pineal gland which is compressing the brainstem. The mass has been attributed to her struggles in word finding, short-term memory deficits, insomnia, fatigue, balance, coordination, reflexes, migraines, and visual disturbances, and with its size and location has the potential to cause obstructive hydrocephalus, a life-threatening accumulation of fluid & swelling of the brain.

After talking with family and taking the advice of the Neurosurgeon, she has decided to move forward with surgery to hopefully help her to live without pain and discomfort.

In late October 2023, she will be undergoing a Craniotomy (a major brain surgery)

Samantha needs your help, she will be traveling to South Carolina for the surgery. After being released from the hospital she is required to stay in Charleston for 10 days before she can travel home. A family member is going with her and will help with her recovery, which will put a strain on them financially as well. Once she returns home she will have a long recovery, from 6 weeks to a year. She will need to make a return to South Carolina in January 2024 for a follow-up visit as well.
