Hello Friends,

We are almost 20% toward our goal and so I am asking everyone who reads this to please share it. The longer it takes us to reach the goal to pay for the new clutch, the longer this woman and son go without income! That car is what she depends on!

This past year I came to know a very deserving woman who had fallen on hard times. She is a recent widow with a teen autistic son and she had a number of health challenges including having suffered a hear attack and recently had a pacemaker put in. On top of all that, her van broke down to where it was not worth repairing.

One of my wonderful community groups decided to help this woman (and others) over the holidays. We received a generous donation of a 2010 Nissan Versa, in good condition due to being a one-owner car. Our group provided the finances to get it registered, insured, title change and all ancillary tax expenses.

Since then, she has used the car as an Uber driver and to deliver uber meals, helping to earn enough to move into better housing and leave the food pantry visits in the rear view mirror.... until now!

Sadly the clutch, (yes the car is a stick shift), has failed! In talking through options with her and checking prices, it will take months for her to save enough to cover this cost, that means no car and no work! My hope is that some of you can chip in a few $$ to help get her back on the road soon!

I have shared her story with several local repair shops and so far, the best price from people that I know will do a good job all inclusive of parts, labor and a front end alignment is $1250.

So, I am asking for help, which is hard, because we know there are a lot of needs and worthy causes but I promise you that this is a good one and we will be so appreciative of every donation.
