Widowed Wife Needs Help With Medical & Living Exp

Hello Friends,

Im here to ask for help in honor of an husband, father, brother, uncle and loving friend, Bruce Berger. This amazing human passed away on June 19th, 2020, after spending over 6 month in 5 different hospitals and rehab facilities. His loving wife Lynnie is in need of help and I know he would be at the front lines doing everything he could to help her. Let me tell you a little bit about his story...

Late 2019 Uncle Bruce and Lynnie said the hell with these New Hampshire winters and flew the coop to Florida, with big dreams of Bruce getting better from multiple heath issues including cancer and doing what he loved...playing music. Everything was going well and seemed on the upswing in the sun and relaxation of Florida. When they moved to Florida in the first place they had saved a sum of money that they could live on for at least a year, but then it went downhill.

On January 7th, 2020 he was sent to the ER after having some breathing trouble, by day 2 in the hospital they had to intubate and breath for him. He was fighting so hard he was exhausting himself. After a time he was able to come off the ventilator and was headed to a rehab facility. He went through countless ups and downs at this facility and was eventually sent to another hospital for an emergency procedure.

At this point in the road COVID19 was beginning to ramp up and as he was going through his procedure, and recovery he was sent back to a rehab facility to ween off the ventilator. It was at this facility he developed an extremely dangerous heart rhythm which doctors said not all come out of. Bruce came out of it and they couldn't believe it, he was fighting the odds and being our hero. His ups and downs continued and one day his kidneys started shutting down. This started his dialysis journey. His loving Lynnie was with him everyday driving back and forth to the facilities.

Bruce had now had an incident and they were unsure he would make it through the night, but not only that Lynnie could not come to the facility any longer because of COVID19. He made it through the night and the only way Lynnie could see him was through a window.  She held signs of encouraging words to him.  One day she received a call that he was doing much better and sitting up, he was doing better for the first time in months and continued to go uphill and was transferred to another rehab facility but unfortunately this one was father from home and no windows. So Lynnie and Sparkles packed up and got a hotel near the rehab for weeks.

Lynnie had put all the money they had into medical bills, mechanical issues in the car she was using to go back and forth multiple times a day and hotel rooms on top of rent and normal everyday bills and expenses. She does not qualify for any assistance other then food stamps which is a blessing. Bruce's medical bills are pouring in and living expenses are pouring out.

We are asking help as a family to help out our Lynnie! Any little bit helps her be able to get the things she needs, rent and pay the medical bills for uncle Bruce.

Thank you for taking the time to read this story!
