Widowed over Christmas holidays, please help

On Christmas Day, William Bird, my husband, and partner of 31 years had a heart attack and collapsed in front of me. They told me he was brain dead and he passed two days later, on the 27th, his birthday. We have been inseparable for the past 3 decades and I still cannot believe that he won’t be with us and our child (Sibylla) Alex bringing in the New Year. It is a blessing that he was able to possibly save 50-100 people with the organs and tissue that he donated on his passing, and it brings us a small measure of peace that it would have made him happy to help so many.

William has been my main caregiver since I was struck by a car 4.5 years ago, leaving me unable to work, and we were in the middle of handling many different medical and financial issues when he passed. Now I’m trying to figure out how to pay the maintenance on our home, the utilities, transportation for doctor visits for myself and our child, food, and his final costs. William had been essentially blind for two months before his death. He was recovering from surgery to correct these issues and we missed the final notice for our utilities. They are thankfully working with us, but we will still need help to survive the next couple of months while we adjust to this world without him.
