Widow and 6 children lose home in electrical fire

Donation protected

In July of 2012, Angie May (my oldest sister) had to sit down with her six children to break the incomprehensible news that their father, Bill May, died tragically in a motorcycle accident on his way home the night before. With six children ranging from 3-11 years old at the time, their lives would never be the same. Today, We are all so proud of these children as they are all growing up to be such great kids full of kindness.

This afternoon (2/25/20), at around 1pm CST, Angie returned home from having lunch at her youngest son’s school to find fire trucks surrounding their family home. While everyone was out of the home (Thank God!!!) what is preliminarily believed to be an electrical fire was ignited and the entire home was burned beyond recognition. All personal belongings, including irreplaceable family Photos and family heirlooms have been lost. This evening Angie learned that the insurance policy had minimal coverage for personal property, and Angie and her children. Have only the clothes on their backs and the support of their family and friends to help them overcome yet another of life’s challenges.

When Angie’s husband passed away so many years ago, the community rallied to support their family. The children’s school (St. Paul of the Cross) in Park Ridge, IL agreed to waive tuition for the children and it took several years to overcome the grief and begin to move forward with their lives without their father. With what happened today, we kindly ask that any help you could provide, please think of donating to Angie and the kids. These children need clothes, shoes, school supplies, food, furniture, Etc. While we will come together as a family to do everything possible to help ease the burden, any assistance would be appreciated more than you could imagine. 100% of the donations will go directly toward clothing, food and housing for the May family. No donation is too small. Anyone that knows my sister will tell you that despite all of life’s unexpected twists and turns, she always maintains an incredibly positive attitude and she is a dedicated and devoted mother to her children. Her oldest son, and my God son, is currently attending UNLV and making us all so proud. Please consider donating as I can assure you, every little bit will make a huge difference over these next few months. Thank you for taking the time to read this story. On behalf of me and my family, thank you for your generosity and kindness. We are truly blessed as a family to be surrounded by such loving and caring family and friends.
