Widow of Vietnam Veteran & Disabled Son Facing Foreclosure – Sheriff’s Sale. Please Help Save Our Home.
⸻
My name is Jan, and I’m the proud widow of a Vietnam veteran who faithfully served his country. He was a true patriot devoted to protecting our freedom and democracy, and he loved his family and his country above all else. I have worked hard my whole life to keep a safe haven for my family. Because my husband is deceased, it is just me and my disabled son who lives with me.
Now, we are facing the unthinkable—losing our home to a Sheriff’s sale unless I can raise the funds to stop the foreclosure.
Due to financial hardship, I fell behind on my HOA fees. The home owners
association has foreclosed on our condo, and it is set to be sold at a Sheriff’s sale in September. I now owe $25,000 in fees, penalties, and legal costs, and the entire amount must be paid in full before the sale date in order to save our home.
I have exhausted every other option by applying for assistance programs, contacting non-profits while also applying for emergency loans. Because of my age and credit, I have been turned away in every instance. This GoFundMe is our last hope.
Every donation will go towards the HOA fees and legal costs to stop the Court ordered sale of our home.
This home is more than just a roof over our heads. It is our safe haven. Losing it would mean my disabled son and I have nowhere stable to go.
If you can donate, no matter how small the amount, you will be helping us keep our home. If you can’t give, please share this page with others. Your share could be the reason we make it in time.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading and caring. You are giving us a chance to stay in the only place we call home.
Thank you for helping us fight to keep our home.
